Catching Up!

The last quarter of 2008 was so very busy! It was good, and fun, but very busy. Alas, there you have why it's been three whole months since I have updated you find folks on our lives! So, I am going to give a run-down of what has been happening.

Let's start with Halloween! It was Jax's first Halloween, and we did the Wizard of Oz theme with my brother's kids. Payton was Glinda the Good Witch (thanks to my mom for making her costume), Jax was the Cowardly Lion, Emma was Dorothy (another Nana original), and Jada was the Scarecrow! They were all adorable. We started the evening with a visit to "Scare at the Square" in downtown McKinney. The girls played a little while, and we ate dinner at a Mexican restaurant downtown. After that, we went to Troy's neighborhood to do some TOT'ing. I was really surprised at how few people were out! They must have gone early. Anyway, here are some pictures from Jaxson's first, and Payton's 5th Halloween.

Here's the whole gang! The cutest ever Wizard of Oz group!

Mmmm, this menu tastes good!

And Now Back to your Regularly Scheduled Programming...

I apologize for that delay! I don't know why, but October has been extremely busy for us. We are constantly on the go! So much so, that I failed to wish my sweet boy a happy half-year birthday on 10-1. Can you believe it? I can't. 6 Months Old!

Here's what you are doing at 6 months old, Jax:
- You are very aware, and always paying attention to what is going on
- You don't like to be away from Mommy. You watch me if I walk away, and you usually cry.
- You are still nursing like a champ, and you have recently started eating some solid foods! Your first food was mashed up banana's, and you made quite a sour face at those!
- You are sitting up like a champ! You started this at about 5.5 months old.
- You can roll over both ways, but you don't usually go too far.
- Once you are up on your belly, you will push up strong, and push up with your feet and rock. I'm just waiting for the day you figure out you can go places!
- You love to babble! I will often hear da da da. Daddy thinks you are referring to him, but we won't spoil the fun and tell him you are just babbling.
- You also love to blow your lips and making spitting noises. As a matter of fact, you woke me up with this behavior at 6 o'clock this morning, and thought it was quite funny!
- You have eaten banana's, sweet potato's, oatmeal, avocado, and rice cereal. I would have to say you have grown to like the banana's the most so far.
- You smile very big when your big brother or sister come to play with you. They love you so much!
- You make Mommy's day everyday, and I don't know what I would do without you. You are the sweetest, most perfect baby boy a Mommy could ask for! I love you!

And now for the pictures!

Go Cardinals, Go!

4 Year Old Soccer, Week 2...

Another very fun soccer game this weekend. I don't know how we lucked out to get such a good team, fun parents, and great Coaches! The Cardinals dominated again this weekend, scoring 13 goals to the other team's 1. The other teams coaches (Mom's, no less) actually were getting upset that our team was scoring so many goals. They also asked the (unpaid) referee to watch the boundary lines better (remember they don't keep score in this league), mmm hmm, they didn't like getting the pants beat off of them. **snicker**

A couple other differences between Male and Female Coaches:
1. The females had blankets for the girls to sit on. The male coaches have the girls sit on balls (which I see nothing wrong with).
2. The female coaches had those little fan/water bottle thingy's. LOL, it was pretty funny. Good thinking!

A Little Pre-Game Warm-Up:

OK Girls, these are the rules...

And She's dribbling down the field...

GOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My New Trick!

Lookie what I can do now. I am getting so big.

And Time Keeps Passing

My little man is already 5 months and 10 days old. He had a check-up on Tuesday, at 5 months and 8 days, and he weighed 19 lbs, and was 26.5" long!!! He's a big boy. Here are a couple shots of him on 9/1, his 5 month birthday. These were taken at Payton's soccer practice. Isn't he adorable?

Oh, and it's really hard for me to get a picture of him smiling... I can make him laugh and smile, but as Soon as I put the camera up to my face, he stops. In this first one, the lady next to me was talking to him.

Cardinals Soccer

My Baby Girl had her first game last weekend, and we had such a great time watching them play. They really did much better than we expected. It took them a little bit to figure out what was going on, but once they got the hang of it - look out! "They" don't keep score in U5 soccer, but let me tell ya, we do! The Cardinals won the game 9-1! Woot! This Saturday Hurricane Ike is supposed to hit Galveston, so there is a chance that our game will be canceled. I'm kinda hoping it is, because Payton won't be here this Saturday; she is going to Colorado with her Nana! Just the two of them! So, I'd like her to be able to make up the game.

Last Saturday was crazy hectic getting everyone ready to go and to the game on time. Then we got to the vicinity of the fields, and the traffic was a nightmare! We ended up parking on the median outside the fields. It was a good thing we did, because we would have never made it in on time, and probably would have taken us an hour to get out of there. So I get to the field and Payton goes to warm up with her team; I go to get out my camera (which I had oh so carefully packed with various lenses), and lo and behold I forgot my memory card. So, all I had with me was my little purse camera, and I got some (rough) video of the game. I DID get my baby scoring her first goal in team soccer! Check it out!

Trying to play catch up...

Well, we have been busy little beavers lately. With everything from soccer to gymnastics to work to football, we have had little time to just relax...and even less time for me to update the blog. Things are going well, just very busy. Work is still a little slow. I'm really hoping the economy takes an upward turn soon! I really want to be in Aruba next April!

So here's what's been happening...

Payton has started soccer. She has had several practices, and has her first game on Saturday morning. Go Cardinals! She looks oh so cute in her soccer duds. She seems to like it quite a bit. The girls are all so cute. They get really tired running up and down that field though.

Justin had his first FRESHMAN football game. I can't believe he's a freshman in High School! That's just really hard to believe. He's growing up to be a wonderful young man. Here are a couple pics from his first football game, which they WON. They beat Highland Park. **snicker**

Jax's first football game..

Crappy pic quality, but

Aren't they cute?

What else is upon us but NFL Baby! We are so pumped for the football season to be starting. It kicks off tomorrow night! Cowboys play Sunday against the Browns.

Are you ready for some Football????

I'm sure I'll be posting pics soon of Payton's first soccer game. Stay tuned!

4 Month Stats, before I forget!

My little Chunk 'O Love is doing just great! He is growing so fast, it's crazy! I keep telling him to slow down, but he's just not listening to me! He is finally pretty much over his respiratory crud. He went in last Friday for his 4 month check-up. He got one shot, the DTaP, and he did great with it. He didn't run fever this time! Yeah! So here are his stats:

Weight: 16 lb. 12 oz. (WOW!)
Length: 26"

One thing he has really started doing the past couple of weeks is chew on his thumbs. He often tries to put his whole fist in his mouth, but he very successfully gets that thumb in his mouth and gnaws away. I am wondering if he is teething, because he really doesn't suck it. Yesterday he had both thumbs in there; it was so cute!
